With a view to change the fortunes of Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday announced a new industrial policy with the help of industrialists. While holding a meeting with the traders and industrialists at Dhuri today, CM Mann said that a single-window system would be introduced for the convenience of the industrialists, so that they would be able to easily get all the necessary approvals to set up the industry. During the meeting, Mann also urged people to vote for AAP’s candidate Gurmel Singh. He said that Singh comes from a common background and is keen to work for the welfare of Sangrur and Punjab. The Chief Minister further said that due to the lax attitude of successive governments, most of the industrialists have shifted their units to neighboring states amid high taxes and complicated arrangements to get approval to run business.
Mann said the AAP government is already in the process of launching a single-window portal to enable industrialists to get NOC, or pollution certificate and other approvals online. Mann said the Tata company wants to build a straw power plant in Punjab. Representatives of Japanese companies and German class companies are also ready to set up projects in the state. He said that the industrial city Mandi Gobindgarh and all other industrial towns like Rajpura, Phillaur, Dhariwal etc. would be revived. Mann said that the Chief Minister’s office would also be set up in Dhuri and there would be no need to go to Chandigarh for government work.
Mann said that Sangrur would be developed as a medical hub. Gurdwara Sant Mandal Angitha Sahib has acquired 25 acres of land and a state-of-the-art medical college in India will be set up there. Mann launched a scathing attack on Congress, Akali Dal Badal, Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar. He said that some corrupt Congress leaders have joined BJP and some are in jail while some Congressmen are approaching the High Court to avoid arrest. He said that Sukhbir Singh Badal used to talk of ruling for 25 years, but only Badal family was missing from the posters of his candidate, while some other candidates were contesting elections only to create the record of most defeat. The Chief Minister said that the BJP government is launching schemes like Demonetisation, CAA, Agriculture Bill and Agneepath, which are being opposed by the youth, farmers and general public. Alam is that when BJP makes law, first curfew has to be imposed. Mann said that BJP is only friend of big corporates but AAP promotes small traders, industrialists, farmers, laborers because AAP aims to work for the welfare of the people and raise their level to make the state again Rangla Punjab.
